Exactly one year ago my friends & I made a 10 min movie called, “Oceans of Solace”. We made the movie as a Christmas present to the Boner-Coats family. Little did i know that it would be posted on YouTube for everyone to see including the 2009 UNC National Championship basketball team. As many of you know Patrick Moody (A member of the 2009 UNC team) was the speaker at “SHINE”, an event we did early this month. At the event we were back in the green room & i was excited to meet this guy cause if you know my brother and I we are huge UNC fans. So he is going around the room meeting everyone & then he comes to me. I introduced my self & he looked at me really funny. Then he precedes to say, “Are you Dexter Shapiro from the movie OCEANS OF SOLACE?” I couldn’t believe it! Never in a million years did i think someone would recognize me from this little film & want a picture of me on there camera phone just to prove to their roommates that he ran into me. We were just 3 friends trying to be funny cause we didn’t have anything else to be doing over thanksgiving break. Then Patrick starts quoting a lot of the lines from the movie & i was dying laughing! It was a pretty cool/Embarrassing moment. Anyway i thought i would give you the YouTube link so you can watch our little no budget movie. Hope you enjoy!

This past week we were able to lead worship for a youth rally @ Midway UMC! First let me say that the Midway youth our some of our biggest fans & we cherish you guys so much! Many of you know that we have been having van problems. Every weekend the van seems to break down and every week we have to put it back in the shop. Also our favorite game to play on the road is “Cornhole” & Sunday the boards that we had to play cornhole broke & were unusable. So we arrived at midway a little down on our luck only to receive a really cool gift from the Midway YG. They MADE us brand new regulation size cornhole boards!! This was def God’s timing and he used the Midway youth to lift our spirits! Thank you so much Midway for the boards & for inviting us to lead worship! The night just got better from that moment! We led worship & Patrick Moody was the speaker. You may know Patrick from the 2009 National Championship UNC Tarheels basketball team! Brad & I are HUGE UNC fans so this was a special night for us! I wanted to see Patrick’s hardware (Championship ring) but he did not bring it with him. Patrick’s testimony was cool & overall we were grateful to be apart of the night! Thanks Amanda for coordinating this night & taking such good care of us!

We had a blast last Friday night at Hillsdale UMC with Harlem Globetrotter Seth Franco. This guy has an awesome story that he is sharing with everyone he comes into contact with. We were privileged to start the night in worship to our father. Seth then shared his story and did some amazing tricks with basketballs that i have never seen before! My favorite was after the concert he spun the ball on top of our new cd! It was a great night and God was glorified. If you want to know more about Seth you can visit him at www.Sethfranco.com

We are looking forward to spending time with our friends at Hillsdale UMC. We just want to invite everyone out for this night of worship.
